We were in Providence last week and dined at the Original Cactus on the advice of friends. Great Food! Great Service! Fun Place! We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves Mexican food and appreciates good service.

We had a great time at Cactus Grille recently. It was crowded, but the service was excellent--also the food. Everyone seemed to be having fun. We'll go back again!

I've been to the restaurant many times over the years dating back to it's location near the Hurricane barrier, Richmond Street, and even the Smithfield location as well as the Allens Ave. site (Old HoJo). It's been an odyssey with those longing for Richmond St, probably more enamored with the bar scene than the restaurant. Agree with some of the reviews on being a bit too pricey, but the food and service negative critiques don't ring true for me.

I thought that I had walked in on an episode of reality show Kitchen Nightmares, after visiting this place. My meal (some sort of chicken enchilada) was covered in two types of glistening bargain cheese, and the chicken was very dry, and tasted like it was frozen. The coffee I ordered with desert was so weak, it tasted like tainted water. My Key lime pie was overwhelmed with whipped cream. Throughout the meal, we also had 2-3 little friends buzzing around our food, drinks, and mouths (some sort of fly). If you are in the mood for Mexican, you'd be better off just picking up some Taco Bell, and a six pack, and enjoy the comfort of your own home. You won't be missing out on any significant ambiance, and throwing away your money on an indigestible meal.
