One of the oldest zoos in the country, the Roger Williams Park Zoo houses over 1,000 animals representing nearly 140 species. The zoo lies on the west end of Roger Williams Park, a few miles south of downtown Providence. Creatures on display include polar bears, snow leopards, Asian Black Bears, and African Elephants.
