Modeled after the United States Capitol Building, the Rhode Island State House sports the fourth largest self-supported marble dome in the world. It also gives home to the Rhode Island General Assembly and the offices of the Governor. Visitors can take guided tours of the building, on which they'll view a huge mural of Providence founder Roger Williams, Revolutionary War-era flags and guns, and more. It's located in the heart of Providence, across from the Roger Williams National Memorial.
