A staple of the prestigious Rhode Island School of Design community, the RISD Museum is a must-see for fans of fine art. Its permanent collection contains more than 80,000 works ranging from Ancient Greek sculpture to Chinese terracotta to modern art in every possible genre and medium. Artists on display include painters John Stephan and Elaine Anthony, printmaker Nancy Friese, sculptor Charles-Henri-Joseph Cordier, and many more. The museum is in the heart of the RISD campus, which lies in downtown Providence just south of the Roger Williams National Memorial.
